The next stop in our roadtrip took us to Omaha Beach in Normandy. Standing on the beach, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history. This place, once the site of unimaginable sacrifice, now rests quietly, a reminder of those who gave everything for our freedom.

During the D-Day landings on 6th June 1944, over 2,400 Allied troops lost their lives here in just one day. A part of the greater operation that would lead to the liberation of Europe.

We walked among the remnants, respecting the courage of those who stormed the beaches, many young adults. Their sacrifice is the reason we can enjoy the civil liberties we have today, and I will never forget this.
